I hope you’re enjoying some warmer and sunnier weather as I know I have from here in DC. I’m including a few updates/news items in this email as well as an invitation to an NCRP event you won’t want to miss. Please keep reading!
1) New Venture Partners has an open RFP for anyone working on Census-related work that closes next Monday April 8. If any of you are working on ensuring a fair and accurate Census, please consider applying! You can see the RFP text attached.
2) In case you missed it, the Ford Foundation, NoVo Foundation, Mission Investors Exchange, and (NCRP members!) Jobs With Justice hosted a panel conversation on foundation investments in construction careers with a particular focus on foundations making equitable capital investments in firms that prioritize career advancement for people of color and women. See more here.
3) A new funder collaborative is coming together to ensure women can live and work safely and with dignity, and I’m hopeful based on the funders announced that it will have a worker justice angle to it. Keep your eyes out for RFPs – you can read more here.
And finally, and invitation to join me and some of my NCRP colleagues at a digital event next month! On May 7, 2019, NCRP will host our annual funding huddle for nonprofit members working on economic justice issues. At the huddle, you’ll join us via our online meeting platform Zoom to learn and discuss funding trends, the giving of the funders located in your state, and opportunities to find more funding. We’ll also make space for members to share questions and concerns. RSVP for the May 7th call here. Feel free to direct any questions you may have to me. I’m looking forward to speaking with everyone soon.
